Harry Demetriou Goes Out From The $2,000 No Limit Hold'em Event At 2006 WSOP.

Harry Demetriou, one of the leading World Series of Poker (WSOP) players, was ejected screaming and shouting from an event last Sunday due to an apparent conflict over the rules.

Harry was removed from the $2,000 No Limit Hold'em event, for what he claims was confusion over the laws of the competition.

Demetriou told PokerNews.com that the tournament's decision, mid-session, to turn the tournament in to a six-handed shootout from what had been a nine, ten or 11-handed game, had caused the trouble.

His complaint to a floor person about the change, which Demetriou claims are not backed by the event's rules, prompted him to be ejected from the tournament after asking for a refund.

"I wasn't happy about it because as far as I was concerned, it was very disrespectful for the players, and I think I had a lot of support from the other players as well," the successful European star explained.

Following a meeting with a senior executive from the WSOP, Demetriou says his initial stake was returned and that he will continue to play the main WSOP events.
