Poker News: Mike Schneider, PartyPoker Million, Tournament Winner, Million

22-Year-Old Soft-Spoken Minnesotan Becomes Youngest Winner In History Of PartyPoker Million Tournament.

Mike Schneider Claudia diFolco PartyPoker.com Million V made 22-year-old soft-spoken Minnesotan the youngest winner in history of PartyPoker Million tournament. On March 12, 2006, the MS Westerdam set sail from Ft. Lauderdale carrying 528 of the world's best online poker players and professionals. They will fight for a share of the $5,280,000 prize pool... After 5 frenetic days of poker action, 22-year-old college kid, Mike Schneider, picked up the coveted $1 million winner’s check (see photo), beating seasoned pro Kenna James by a whisker.

Tournament Play
Short stack, Richard Joel finishes in fifth place. He went all in after the turn with pocket eights. Andrew Chitea called and shows KK The river was another king winning Drew Chitea a big pot. Community cards: Jd 5h 2c 4c Ks.
Richard Joel finishes in 5th to collect $225,000. He said afterwards, “I had to go all in with something!"

Drew Chitiea finishes 4th. Scott Buller goes out after going all in against Kenna James. Scott Buller picks up $500,000 and finishes in third place to leave the tournament with a heads up game. Kenna James is now the short stack with just $750,000. Mike Schneider is looking very strong with nearly $4,500,000 in chips.

James survived one all in on the previous hand. He was holding 83 and was all in on the big blind. He hit a 3 on the river to survive. The following hand James raised with his remaining $120,000 in chips holding J6, and was called by Schneider who showed Q10. Mike hit a queen on the flop and there was no help from the turn or river. Kenna James will collect $700,000 for his second place.

Mike Schneider’s buddies from the University of Minnesota, who had been supporting him throughout the tournament, erupted into cheers as the 22 year-old went up on to stage to collect his $1,000,000 from Claudia diFolco and Mike Sexton.
